Laws of The Game
The laws governing the "long game" as played in Wales and Scotland.
For ease of organisation, it is anticipated that most of the matches will initially be played to the existing laws of the game as played between Scotland and Wales currently. The Welsh Quoiting Board would welcome contact from players of other versions of the game, including youngsters, with a view to incorporating games played over shorter distances.
Rule changes for English compatibility : -
Max of 8lb per pair of Quoits (we normally play to max of 7 and half)
The bed will be the same as you play (we normally have a circle to land in)
The distance to be pitched is 18yds, that's from pin to toe board must not stand over toe board if this happens then the quoit will be removed.
No upside down quoits
Scoring will be the same as previous tournaments
